King Paluta featured Kuami Eugene on the remix of his Y’ahitte

King Paluta and Kuami Eugene’s collaborative hit ‘Y’ahitte Remix’ has clinched the award for Best Highlife Song of the Year at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards event being held at the Grand Arena in Accra.

The song, which has been a fan favorite since its release, stood out in a competitive field that showcased the best of Ghana’s hiplife music.

Nominted songs in the category were ‘Insha Allah’ – Okyeame Kwame ft. King Paluta,’M’asesa’ – Jay Bahd ft. Kweku DMC, SkyFace SDW, ‘Oh My Linda’ – Reggie Osei, Jay Bahd, O’Kenneth, Kweku DMC, ‘Twatis’ – Oseikrom Sikana ft. Kwaku Smoke, ‘Y’ahitte Remix’ – King Paluta ft. Kuami Eugene and ‘Eny3 Nwanwa’ – Guru.

‘Y’ahitte Remix’ has been a significant presence on the Ghanaian airwaves, with its catchy beat and memorable lyrics resonating with audiences across the country. The collaboration between King Paluta and Kuami Eugene, two of Ghana’s most talented artists, created a perfect blend of traditional highlife rhythms with modern hiplife sounds.

TGMA 2024

The TGMA is being held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

In March 2024, the Ghana Music Award Academy Board announced the nominees for the 25th TGMA, featuring categories such as Artiste of the Year, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist.

The Ghana Music Academy Board is composed of professionals from all sectors of the music industry, including recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixers, and engineers, ensuring a diverse and well-rounded judging panel.

Leading the nominations for the coveted “Artiste of the Year” award are Black Sherif, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Nacee, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy.

The Best New Artist category features Banzy Banero, DSL, King Paluta, Maya Blu, Olive the Boy, and Oseikrom Sikani.

Last year, Black Sherif won Artiste of the Year along with three other awards. Camidoh secured Afrobeats Song of the Year and Best Collaboration, King Promise took home Album of the Year for “5 Star,” Sarkodie was named Hiplife Artiste of the Year, and Piesie Esther won both Gospel Song of the Year and Gospel Artiste of the Year.
