Wycombe Wanderers have announced the return of 19-year-old English-born Ghanaian winger Gideon Kodua on a season-long loan from West Ham United.

Kodua, who impressed during a loan spell with the Chairboys last season, made 10 appearances after joining in January.

He first caught the attention of Wycombe fans by scoring against the club while playing for West Ham’s under-21 side in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

Having joined West Ham in 2017, Kodua captained their under-18s to FA Youth Cup victory in the 2022/23 season, scoring a memorable goal in the final against Arsenal.

His strong performances earned him a professional contract and the Dylan Tombides Award, recognising the club’s top scholar.

Before his initial loan to Wycombe, Kodua scored seven goals in 17 appearances for West Ham’s under-21 team, including one against Wycombe in the EFL Trophy.

His return to Adams Park is pending approval from the EFL and FA.
