During a police press conference on Thursday, Mount Druitt Police Area Command Detective Chief Inspector Paul Tickner told reporters that a group of up to eight people arrived on a ute when a knifeman jumped off the back and stabbed the three family members.

Inspector Tickner said the three men were at the reserve for a pre-arranged fight with another group.

‘The two parties involved used to live together and there’s been a bit of a falling out over the last few days,’ Inspector Tickner alleged.
