We want to go to the World Cup – Richard Ofori

Black Stars goalkeeper, Richard Ofori has reiterated his desire to play at the World Cup and has therefore set sights on securing qualification for next year’s tournament.

The Bafana Bafana will host the Black Stars on matchday 2 of the qualifiers at the FNB stadium on Monday.

Ghana is on top of Group G after beating Ethiopia in the opener, with South Africa and Zimbabwe having a point each due to their stalemate last Friday.

Speaking ahead of the game, the Orlando Pirates shot-stopper emphasized how important the South Africa game is for the playing body and the entire nation at large, however, promising Ghanaians a victory.

“This game is very important, it’s not for only me, it’s for the nation because we know how the nation love the game and then how important this game is for the nation because we want to go to the world cup that is the stage every player want to play. So is very important for the team and then for the nation.”

“I have played with most of their players here and I know their quality, they are very good but at the end of the day, we are Ghana so we need to show that we are a Ghanaian national team and the most important thing we need to win,” he said.
