A popular beer has been recalled after it was found to have excessive alcohol content with consumers warned drinking it could cause ‘injury or illness’.
The 375ml watermelon-flavoured sour beers were available at Your Mates Brew Pub in Warana in Queensland‘s Sunshine Coast but were recalled on Monday.
The affected beers marked best before November 7 this year were also available online across the country but were withdrawn due to secondary fermentation.
‘Consumers should not drink or open this product and should dispose of it safely,’ Food Standards Australia New Zealand said.
‘Food products containing excess alcohol and carbonation may cause illness/injury if consumed.
‘Please contact Your Mates Brewing Co for safe disposal instructions and to arrange for reimbursement.’
