Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chairman, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chairman, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has voiced his disappointment with the Black Stars‘ recent performances in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

His comments follow the national team’s underwhelming start to the qualifiers, where they failed to win either of their first two games.

Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium in their opening Group F match and later managed only a 1-1 draw against Niger in Berkane.

With just one point from two matches, the Black Stars currently sit in third place in the group.

Speaking to Graphic Sports, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe criticized the team for prioritizing individual flair over the teamwork and determination required to win.

He observed that many players seemed more focused on showing off their skills to the crowd rather than playing as a united team.

“When they are playing, everybody is trying to play a master game, just joking with the ball. How can one person try to dribble about four or five players? Impossible,” he stated, criticizing the team’s over-exuberant style of play.

The Black Stars, under the guidance of coach Kwesi Appiah, will now aim to secure their first win in the upcoming doubleheader against Sudan in matchday three and four of the qualifiers.
