#SuperDelegatesVote: Ashanti Regional Chairmen Choosing Bawumia Is A Blatant Lie! – NPP MP | Politics

NPP Member of Parliament for Bortianor-Ngleshie- Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh has rubbished claims that the party’s constituency Chairmen in Ashanti Region are all rooting for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the New Patriotic Party into the 2024 elections.

A statement released by some Chairmen of the Region yesterday indicated “Dr. Bawumia is clearly the choice of the grassroots” and in view of this, all the Chairmen are in favor of the Vice President.

“As Constituency Chairmen, we have met on this particular issue, and have arrived at a firm resolution that, our grassroots and polling station executives are right. We are therefore seizing this moment to unanimously express our agreement to this call.

“We will also urge and entreat all the Constituency Chairmen to heed the call from the grassroots and polling station executives and vote for Dr Bawumia in their numbers. Because this is the shining moment for us as the Ashanti Region to make history and settle the score in the minds of Ghanaians that, the Ashanti NPP delegate does not vote on tribal lines”, portions of the statement further said.

But Hon. Sylvester Tetteh, who is in the camp of presidential aspirant Alan Kyerematen, says the statement is falsehood.

According to him, this is the doing of some Chairmen whose numbers do not count as compared to the delegates who will be voting on Saturday, August 26, during the NPP Special Delegates Congress aimed at cutting the number of aspirants from ten to five to compete in the main presidential race on November 4th.

“Some two people have hidden in a room and written a statement that Ashanti Chairmen, meanwhile reading the story, they are now urging their colleagues to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. What a disgrace!”, he exclaimed.

He challenged those Chairmen behind the statement to publicly reveal themselves if they truly believe it.

“They should be careful. People should be careful”, he warned them.

Hon. Sylvester Tetteh made these assertions during Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” programme Friday morning.
