Ghanaian midfielder Shawkan Mohammed has secured a notable move to the Tunisian top-flight club, Club Africain, with a contract running until the summer of 2027.

The 21-year-old made the switch on a free transfer after leaving Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League.

Mohammed, who was rumored to be joining Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, opted instead for a new challenge in Tunisia after completing a successful medical. The midfielder turned down a contract extension with Accra Lions that included a potential move to Malaysia.

Founded in 1920, Club Africain is one of Tunisia’s oldest and most successful clubs, with 13 Tunisian Ligue 1 titles and several cup victories. The club, known for its passionate fan base and historic Hammadi Agrebi Stadium, has a tradition of signing talented players from across Africa.

Mohammed’s transfer to Club Africain marks a significant step in his career as he begins training with his new team, with a potential debut against Ben Guerdane on the horizon.
