A Service NSW staff member has been repeatedly stabbed in broad daylight shortly after arriving at work.
Emergency services rushed to Rawson Place in Haymarket, in the city’s CBD, on Friday following reports a man, 55, had been stabbed in the chest.
Police will allege he was stabbed in the lower back, chest and shoulder. A 32-year-old man has been taken into custody.
NSW Police confirmed cops rushed to the scene at about 9.20am.
Emergency services rushed to the Rawson Place in Haymarket just after 9am on Friday following reports a man had been stabbed at a Service NSW
‘Police rendered first aid before he was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics,’ a statement read.
‘He was later transported to hospital in a critical but stable condition.
‘A 32-year-old man has been arrested and was taken to Day Street Police Station.’
Police said there is no ongoing risk to the public.
