This is the terrifying moment a thug armed with a Samurai sword faced down police and motorists on Friday night after ‘attacking two men’ – before he was blasted with a taser and arrested.

In the video, the man holds a huge samurai sword in Crawley in front of dozens of cars as he walks up and down the road.

Police received reports of a man with a weapon and arrived at the scene just after 7.30pm on Friday. 

Sussex Police said two people were injured in the incident on Horsham Road, according to the Sun

Their injuries were ‘consistent with being stabbed by a bladed article’, police said.

The two people were taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

Footage shows the man waving the weapon in the air at what is said to be Cheals Roundabout as he got close to several cars.

The 32-year-old man was arrested by police using a taser and they took his weapon.

Police said he was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

After the events of Friday night, Detective Inspector Jason Hazzard has asked for witnesses to come forward. 

He said: ‘This was a serious and distressing assault on two people, and residents can expect to see a continued police presence in the area while our investigation is ongoing.

‘We would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who may have captured any relevant mobile phone or dash cam footage of the incident.

‘We ask people not to share this footage on social media but to get in touch with us so it can be used to support our ongoing investigation.’
