Rapper Azealia Banks vows never to return to ‘racist’ Australia

Fiery American rapper Azealia Banks has vowed never to return to Australia and cancelled a show after claiming a previous show in Brisbane the ‘most racist, demoralising experience’ of her life.

The outspoken New Yorker, best known for her song 212, refused to play in Brisbane on Tuesday, taking to Instagram to announce her performance would be cancelled.

‘I’m so sorry you guys – actually I’m not sorry – but listen: last time I was in Brisbane and y’all threw s*** on the stage and damn near almost f***ing hit me in the face with a f***ing bottle of soda or whatever that s*** was,’ Banks said.

‘That was the most racist, most demoralising experience of my f***ing life and right now I’m on a really good track.

‘I am too far away from home … I am a beautiful black woman and I am not going to get in front of some audience of white people for them to be throwing s*** at me. I am so not sorry.

‘I am not sorry at all.’

The incident brings to an end a disastrous tour, after planned gigs in Melbourne and Sydney were postponed due to ‘visa issues’.

In 2013 Banks was targeted by Australian fans throwing items at her on stage and later described Aussie crowds as ‘violent and belligerent’.

But she also described a previous show in Brisbane as ‘the most racist, most demoralising experience of my f***ing life’

Banks, 31, apparently agreed to play in Brisbane on the 2022 tour after her initial reluctance if security measures were beefed up, but then backed out claiming her requests had been disregarded.

‘After this run this will be my very last time touring Australia,’ she said.

‘This place makes me utterly miserable and I’m too black and beautiful to have a bunch of white people in my face playing with me over their weak ass currency.’

In 2013 in Melbourne she walked off stage after being hit with a beer can after playing for only 90 seconds at the Listen Out Festival.

On the same tour a beer can was thrown on stage at her Sydney gig.

At the time she apologised to Melbourne fans ‘whose experience was affected by the behavior of one individual’.

The production company promoting Bank’s Australian tour said ticket holders would receive automatic refunds after the star cancelled the show.

‘Point Productions would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused, this has been well out of our control,’ they said.

In 2011, another American rapper Tyler The Creator called out Brisbane and said the city was racist

In 2011, American rapper Tyler The Creator lashed out at Brisbane, describing it as a ‘city of racists.’

He told his twitter that people in Brisbane were ‘racist as f**k’ and that he was so ‘uncomfortable’ he wanted to go home.

‘I get this weird vibe,’ he wrote.

Then he followed up his concerns with the comment: ‘I’m in Brisbane Right Now…They hate N****s Out here.’

He did not restrict is comments to the social networking site.

He told the crowd at his sold-out show at at Brisbane’s Hi-Fi theatre that he’d had a run-in with a ‘racist a**hole’ at a KFC in Brisbane.

‘I’m not going to judge Brisbane on one person’s behaviour,’ he told the crowd – but his earlier tweets about the allegedly racist city remain on his Twitter feed.

Daily Mail Australia approached Point Productions regarding her threat to never return to Australia.

It’s not the first time Banks has sparked controversy.

Last year, she hit back at critics after posting a disturbing video of herself and a friend digging up her dead cat Lucifer’s remains.

The performer shared- and deleted – a disturbing set of clips in which she and another person exhumed the bagged remains of her pet cat who died three months ago.

Insisting she hadn’t gone on to eat the dead cat’s remains, Azealia labelled her critics ‘racist,’ adding: ‘this is very un-black lives matter of you all.’

‘Why do you think I would eat a dead cat when I can barely eat a dead cow. It’s called taxidermy…’ she fumed.

‘Plenty of hunters with preserved deer heads hanging off their wall. Darlings… You guys are being racist and this is very un-black lives matter of you all.’

Azealia went on: ‘The cat’s head is soaking in peroxide to fully clean him, then I’m taking him to a jewelry shop to have it gilded.

‘Lucifer was an icon. He deserves to be preserved. You girls are not tough like me. You may indeed, kiss my witchy a**.

Banks is best known for 2014 album Broke With Expensive Taste – and for her fiery social media presence.

She has had numerous wild twitter beefs with other rappers, including Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, but most often the US-based Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

She accused Azalea of stealing her name, celebrated when the Australian lost her record deal and once encouraged her to commit suicide.
