A pub in Cheshire is searching for a new chef but has stated that ‘no snowflakes’ should apply for the role.
The Queen Anne in Warrington advertised for the new role by placing a blackboard outside saying: ‘Chef wanted. Please ask inside for details. No snowflakes please!!’
The landlord of the pub has bemoaned previous ‘flaky’ employees who ‘constantly’ wanted time off.
The pub, who describe themselves as ‘a small family run free house ‘ that prides themselves on ‘serving good beer and great food’ have also shared a photo of the board online.
The Facebook post said: ‘We are still looking for chefs to join our busy kitchen team.
‘So if you want to be involved with serving and making the best homemade food that golborne (Sic) has to offer, are hardworking and not a snowflake pop in and have a chat with us or drop us a message.’

Several people commented about the pub’s choice to specify ‘no snowflakes’
The advert split opinion, some users strongly agreed with the sentiment of the message while others hoped they wouldn’t find any one.
One user enthusiastically commenting: ‘Snowflakes are taking over the world’. Another seemed more miffed at the sign and grumbled: ‘I genuinely hope you find no one.’
Another asked: ‘Still looking cause they’re all snowflakes?’. While a different user asked for clarity, saying: ‘Please define your snowflake.’
One user suggested that their friend should apply for the role as they were a good match, they tagged their pal and said: ‘You are no snowflake!’
The martial arts and motorbike loving landlord, Christopher Darnbrough, has shared the job advert more than once, and stated he is simply after someone who is ‘hard working’ and ‘slightly eccentric’.

He said: ‘Since the lockdown we have had a lot of flaky people who don’t want to work and just breeze in and out and are constantly wanting time off.
He added: ‘Most people have seen the funny side.’
The family-run pub says it only uses ‘locally sourced fresh ingredients’ for its food and that everything is homemade on site.
They offer a range of traditional British meals ‘with a modern twist’ from their ‘famous steak pie’ to a range of curries.
The pub also continued to operate throughout the pandemic despite ‘incredibly challenging’ conditions and offered home delivery of food during lockdowns.
