Daily Mail Australia has contacted Victoria Police in relation to the incident.

There are two passenger routes in Port Phillip, from Portarlington on the Bellarine Peninsula and Docklands and between Melbourne and Geelong.

It is unclear if the routes were interrupted by the marine rescue.

More to come.
