A cult-favourite beauty salon has been forced to close its storefront after its landlord decided to sell the property.
The Olive + July team announced the closure of its Subiaco salon, in central Perth, on Tuesday.
‘After almost seven years our lease at our beloved Subiaco clinic is coming to an end,’ they wrote online.
‘Although we wish, and have begged, to stay, unfortunately we are unable to continue the lease at this premises.’
As Olive + July’s founder, Chloe Sherrell, focuses her attention on motherhood, it was decided the company would not relocate.

‘With our lease coming to an end, this gave us an opportunity to assess where we are at as a small family business,’ she said.
‘We realised we are not prepared to undergo another salon fit out at this stage in our lives.
‘With having a young child and hopefully expanding our family in the near future, we felt it is not the right time.’
Instead, Ms Sherrell will become a solo practitioner under the Olive + July brand from the already established B Cosmetics, in the city’s north.
‘Cosmetics is a modern boutique family run clinic founded by Dr Sarah and Dr Ben Wade located in Perth’s iconic seaside suburb, City Beach,’ Ms Sherrell said.
She will offer cosmetic tattooing, brow styling, lash lifts and skin treatments from her room in B Cosmetics.

The emotional announcement received several supportive comments from loyal customers.
‘One of the best chapters of my life was working here! So sad to see it go but so proud of you,’ one said.
‘One door closes and another one opens!,’ another wrote.
Olive + July’s last day at the Subiaco clinic will be June 21 and Ms Sherrell will begin operating from B Cosmetics from July 1.
