- The NSW businesses folded earlier this year with the size of their debt growing
The debts of a group collapsed companies in the construction industry has hit $26million with customers left thousands of dollars out-of-pocket.
A string of businesses under the Apollo Group umbrella folded in quick succession earlier this year, including its large Western Sydney Apollo Kitchens joinery factory, with the debts owed to creditors hitting $23million.
But a further $3.3million has now been found to be owed, seeing the total climb to more than $26million.
One of many customers, 62-year-old Veronica, told news.com.au she paid more than $14,000 for a new kitchen shortly before the business went under and has received nothing.
Apollo Kitchens (NSW) and Brownlen Pty Ltd, which is the head office arm of the Apollo Group, both collapsed in March resulting in nearly 100 people – factory workers and office staff – losing their jobs.
One staff member publicly complained they had not received superannuation since late 2022.
