Urgent manhunt for bearded truck driver ‘with scratches on his face’ after a woman was found DEAD inside an apartment following a desperate call for help – with special Hazmat firefighters called to the grisly scene

An urgent manhunt is underway for a bearded truck driver with scratches on his face and arms after a woman was found dead in an apartment shortly after making a domestic violence call for help.   

The man, aged in his 20s, is wanted for questioning after the body was discovered at a unit on Pennant Hills Road in North Parramatta, western Sydney, on Sunday.

The woman had made a domestic violence call for help around 4.30pm before police responded.  

Her death is being treated as suspicious with special Fire and Rescue Hazmat teams called in to help investigate the scene.

‘On arrival, officers attached to Parramatta City Police Area Command found the body of a woman located inside a unit,’ NSW Police said in a statement.  

Police have released a description of a man they believe could help with their inquiries.

He is aged around 20, 175cm-180cm tall, and weighs between 80kg-90kg with a muscular and athletic build. 

The man has black hair, a short beard and moustache. He was last seen wearing a black, sleeveless top and jeans. He may have scratches on his face and arms. 

He is currently driving a Mitsubishi Fuso tipper truck with NSW registration plates, MAKKAC. 

Residents have been told not to approach the man and to immediately call police. 

Three forensics vans arrived at the apartment block, a three-level red brick building on the corner of Gladstone Street, on Monday.

Up to ten plain clothes and uniformed police are on site. 

The woman’s body is believed to have been found in a first floor apartment. 

Police spoke with residents of the neighbouring flats who have declined to make any public comment.
