Mr. Beautiful urges voters to rethink support for Bawumia

Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful, has called on voters to reconsider casting their ballots for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming December 7, 2024, general elections.

Mr. Beautiful criticized Dr. Bawumia and the NPP for what he described as a lack of focus on infrastructure development.

He argued that if elected, Dr. Bawumia’s administration would prioritize issuing the Ghana card over the provision of critical infrastructure in the country.

Reflecting on the NPP’s past criticisms of former President John Dramani Mahama’s infrastructure initiatives, Mr. Beautiful highlighted the irony in the current administration’s stance.

He recalled how the NPP, while in opposition, mocked Mahama’s infrastructure projects, questioning if infrastructure alone could satisfy Ghanaians’ needs.

At that time, they argued that food should take precedence over infrastructure.

He said Dr. Bawumia will prioritize the provision of Ghana cards over roads among others.

However, Mr. Beautiful claimed that since coming to power, Dr. Bawumia has suggested that the Ghana card is more valuable than infrastructure projects.

He pointed out that Dr Bawumia’s focus on digital initiatives earned him the nickname “Digital Man,” in contrast to Mahama’s “Nation Builder” moniker.

Appearing on the “Ghana Yensom” morning show with Odeyeeba Kofi Essuman on Accra 100.5 FM, Mr. Beautiful discussed his support for the 24-hour economy policy.

He explained that this policy could combat corruption and reduce delays in services such as passport and driver’s license processing.

Additionally, he argued that the 24-hour economy would create jobs for the growing number of unemployed youth in the country.
