Man stabbed on Melbourne’s Bourke Street as assailants remain at large


Peak hour horror in Melbourne as man is stabbed in broad daylight on one of the city’s most iconic streets and is rushed to hospital as assailant flees on foot

A man has been stabbed during peak hour in Melbourne‘s CBD with the unknown assailants fleeing on foot.

Emergency services were called to Bourke Street on Wednesday around 3.35pm after reports of an altercation.  

It is understood the offenders fled the scene on foot and scooters.

A police spokesperson said the man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It comes only days after a teenager was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a stabbing on a bus in Fitzsimons Lane, Templestowe.

The 16-year-old was discharged on Friday morning with police confirming his alleged attacker remained on the run and no charges had been laid. 

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact police immediately.
