Man rushed to hospital after paramedics find him with large knife sticking out of his hand


An alleged assault in Adelaide‘s south has resulted in a man being rushed to hospital with a large knife still stuck in his hand.

Emergency crews rushed to Hamilton Rd at Aldinga Beach, south of Adelaide, about 12.40pm Monday, following reports of an assault.

South Australia Police and the South Australia Ambulance Service attended the man’s home to find he had a knife sticking out of his hand.

‘Upon arrival emergency services located a 48-year-old man from the address with a stab wound to his hand,’ a South Australia Police statement said.

‘He has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.’

The man was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition 

Footage from 9News shows the man being treated by paramedics while lying on a stretcher with a large knife jutting out of his hand.

Witness Jayson Haywood told 9News the man was ‘pretty lucky’, considering it ‘looked like a big knife’.

‘From what I’ve seen and when I’ve talked to him he seems like a good dude,’ Mr Haywood said of the victim.

‘I’ve never heard anything or seen anything bad, apart from now.’

SA Police’s investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
