Dale Morgan, 43, has admitted murdering Judith Rhead, 68, in Pembrokeshire.

Judith Rhead, 68, was found at a flat in Pembroke Dock, Wales, by startled police

Morgan, of Neyland, Pembs, spoke only to confirm his name and enter the plea during the brief hearing.

Judge Paul Thomas QC told him: “There is only one sentence I can impose, that is life imprisonment.”

Morgan was remanded in custody ahead of sentence in October.

Dyfed-Powys Police had treated the death as suspicious from the outset and on Tuesday they formally declared it was being treated as a murder investigation.

Police and forensic teams remained at the flat in Market Street, Pembroke Dock, overnight

Forensic officers joined police at the scene in Market Street until Sunday evening as they carried out enquiries.

Then in February Dyfed Powys Police announced Morgan had been charged with Judith’s murder.

Shocked locals have expressed their sympathies following the death.

Mayor of Pembroke Dock George Manning told the Western Telegraph: ‘It is always sad to hear of any loss of life and particularly when it occurs in one’s local community.’
