Lauren Boebert RIPPED by fellow GOP lawmaker for tweeting locations on January 6, new audio reveals

Firebrand Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado was angrily confronted by a fellow member of the House GOP for tweeting lawmakers’ locations during the January 6 attack, newly-revealed audio shows.

Boebert, a stalwart supporter of Donald Trump‘s, was among the Republicans who voted against certifying President Joe Biden‘s 2020 electoral victory.

She was also accused of putting her colleagues’ lives in danger with multiple public updates about their movements just as the ex-president’s supporters overwhelmed law enforcement and flooded the US Capitol.

Now it appears her incendiary Twitter posts caused a dust-up with Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington just days after the attack, the audio of which was published by CNN late last week.

‘Is it true that you were live tweeting, from the floor, our location to people on the outside as we were being attacked, Lauren?’ Beutler can be heard asking on January 11.

Boebert replied, ‘Um, yes, those tweets did go out and that was something that was live and public information that was broadcast live.’

‘So don’t ask us about security if you’re telling the attackers where we’re at,’ Beutler shot back before yielding back her time.

But the Colorado Republican continued to defend herself, insisting that her updates ended before confidential information was revealed.

‘So that was something that was being broadcast live from C-SPAN and once we were on the move there absolutely nothing else, uh, that was – that was broadcast,’ Boebert said.

She was confronted on it by Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler

Rep. Lauren Boebert was confronted by Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler on January 11, days after the Capitol riot, for tweeting lawmakers’ locations

The audio was first obtained by New York Times journalists Alex Burns and Jonathan Martin for their book ‘This Will Not Pass.’

Boebert caught intense criticism for tweeting that lawmakers were ‘locked in the House Chambers’ at 2:17pm on January 6 last year.

At the same time she tweeted that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ‘has been removed from the chambers’ – just minutes after she was evacuated. Rioters were already scouring the Capitol halls at the time.

In addition to live tweeting lawmakers’ locations, Boebert reportedly led a late night tour of the Capitol in December 2020, three weeks before the insurrection.

At the time the Capitol was under strict COVID-19 pandemic guidelines that barred outside visitors. Boebert, who was elected just that November, had not been sworn in as a member of Congress yet.

She denied the story, which was initially published in Salon.

The new audio came just before Boebert found herself embroiled in another scandal involving an incident just before she came to Congress – this time, being accused of abandoning her son, dog and former sister-in-law after the Jeep she was driving careened into a ravine.

According to a family insider Boebert, 35, was off-roading on Mother’s Day 2020 – just two weeks before she was to win a Republican primary – when she lost control and ‘bailed,’ leaving her family members to their fate.

Tori Hooper, 28, who was married to Boebert’s younger brother, Benjamin Bentz, at the time, sustained serious injuries to her face and chest that led to further health complications months later.

Yet DailyMail.com has learned that no 911 call was ever placed.

Instead, the source said, the then-congressional hopeful, Boebert, ‘begged’ Hooper not to tell anyone about the accident which could have dominated the headlines leading up to the primary.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: ‘It was pretty crazy. She [Boebert] got out of the driver’s seat and left Tori screaming and freaking out, and her son and dog in the back seat.

‘Tori couldn’t get out of her seatbelt, so she grabbed the steering wheel. She’s steering into a cliff. They hit a rock wall; it struck her whole face. It was bad.’

At the time Boebert was ahead in the polls and she went on to win the primary for Colorado’s third congressional district, defeating sitting congressman Scott Tipton by nine percentage points in what political observers called a ‘shocking upset’.

The source told DailyMail.com: ‘Lauren begged Tori not to say anything. She tried to use her money.

‘She said: ‘I’ll pay for it all,’ but Tori had insurance, so she didn’t have to pay for anything.’
