Laryea Kingston is the best person to explain why he resigned

Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyeman Badu believes only Laryea Kingston can elucidate the reasons behind his resignation as the coach of the Black Starlets.

Kingston, also a former Ghana international, announced his departure following the Black Starlets’ 2-1 defeat to Burkina Faso in the ongoing WAFU B U-17 tournament hosted by Ghana.

In an interview with Peace FM, monitored by Footballghana.com, Agyeman Badu mentioned that Kingston’s post-match interview was charged with emotions and other elements, emphasizing the importance of revisiting the interview before drawing any conclusions.

“If you examine the interview, there are many aspects to it — emotions and other factors. If you delve deeper, you might end up saying something different and making a mistake. Only he knows for sure. We all recognize Laryea’s passion for the nation throughout his career.

“He built himself up as a coach, and the FA had faith in him, entrusting him with the team and its development,” he said.

“I did scouting work with him in the Volta Region. The kind of intellect he possesses is what pains me about losing him at this juncture.

“Whether he has adopted the European mindset of I couldn’t win the cup, and I will stand by my words and resign, or whether you sit down and listen to the interview again, some of the words used were sensitive,” he added.”
