Former Deputy General Secretary for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen says he has been impressed by the work done so far by the Ghana Football Association president, Kurt Okraku.

Mr Okraku has been a subject of criticisms since taking up the role as the leader of the Football Association.

However, Obiri Boahen, who is also a lawyer believes despite the challenges Kurt’s administration has faced, they have been able to manage things and are doing quite well.

“I don’t think in my life I have met Kurt Okraku before but to be frank, I think Kurt is doing very well. He’s a human being so there may be misfortunes but for me, they are doing well, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt because the game was in a sorry state before Kurt and his people took over,” Obiri Boahen told Hello FM.

“Currently, there has been an improvement. The referees are doing well, even they have a partnership with STC which has been helpful to the referees. So, Kurt is on course as far as I am concerned.”

The former deputy secretary also went ahead to praise the sponsorship deal with Star Times while asking them to do more with time.

“Their sponsorship with StarTimes also helped those of us who like the local game to watch at least two games every match, and that was impressive,” he added.

“Kurt has done well but there is room for improvement. So let’s give them the benefit of the doubt,” he added.
