Two people have been found dead inside a Brisbane home which is known to be occupied by a single mother and two young children.

Emergency services were called to a residence in Kentville Street in the northwestern suburb of Mitchelton shortly before 9am on Thursday.

Multiple police officers and a man in a blue hazmat suit could be seen entering the property.

Neighbours have told Daily Mail Australia a single mother and two primary-school-aged children lived inside the home, which is owned by the Queensland government.

They said the community is ‘praying’ that the children – who are often seen playing in the yard – have not been hurt.

They said they had not heard or witnessed anything unusual in the area in the past 24 hours and were shocked when police swarmed the street on Thursday morning.

‘They [police] pulled up outside and took the plates then a tow truck showed up,’ the resident said of the incident last month.

‘It was rattle can painted black. It was dodgy.

‘I have seen police there before that time too.’

The resident said they had also previously heard fights happening at the property.

A spokesperson for Queensland Police said officers were ‘investigating the sudden death of two people in Mitchelton this morning’.

‘Emergency services were called to a Kentville Street residence around 8.50am,’ the spokesperson said.

‘A crime scene has been declared and investigations into the cause of death are underway.

‘There is no further information available at this time.’

The man in the hazmat suit was seen being escorted into a car detectives after exiting the property.
