Gospel musician Nicholas Omane Acheampong has expressed his lack of trust in former President John Dramani Mahama‘s assurance that he will not cancel the Free SHS policy.
Acheampong’s skepticism stems from comments Mahama made when the New Patriotic Party first proposed the policy while in opposition.
“If I sit aloof as a celebrity thinking about my brand and not speaking, John Dramani Mahama will cancel the Free SHS policy when he is brought back to office.
“He said he will not cancel it but since NPP proposed the policy, you know what he has been saying about it,” he said on Accra-based Joy FM.
However, Mr. Omane Acheampong who is anticipating backlash for his stance said he has developed a thick skin.
He has established that he is unfazed by potential insults from Ghanaians, particularly from members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“I know I will be insulted for this but I don’t care, I couldn’t be bothered,” he added.
