‘I love and adore him’: Liam Gallagher reveals backstory to him winding up young Manchester United fan during Manchester City’s FA Cup triumph at Wembley

Liam Gallagher has revealed the backstory to him winding up a young Manchester United fan during Manchester City’s FA Cup triumph at Wembley today.

The former Oasis singer, 50, had fans in stitches after he was spotted seemingly rubbing salt in the wounds of the young boy as his club City conquered their rivals.

Speaking out on Twitter, Liam has since explained that the boy was in fact his friend’s child who he is very fond of.

‘The young lad I was apparently antagonising was my mate’s kid who I was consoling he’s a Utd fan I love and adore him we’re not all c****,’ he wrote.

Ilkay Gundogan opened the lead after only 12 seconds – just for Bruno Fernandes to level before halftime for the penalty spot.

Liam’s brother Noel Gallagher (left) recently revealed there will be no Oasis reunion next year but there will be a new album from the band

The Prince of Wales – who is the president of the Football Association – greeted every player, match official, and both managers one-by-one ahead of kick-off at Wembley this afternoon.

Singer Liam’s appearance comes after the singer was seen arriving with his lookalike sons Lennon and Gene Gallagher at the Mulberry party at The Audley in London at the end of May.

His brother Noel Gallagher recently revealed there will be no Oasis reunion next year – after rumours of a possible reconciliation swirled around the internet.

However, it was reported that there will be a new album from the band.

The musician, 55, previously said his estranged brother Liam, 50, could ‘give me a ring’ and put their years of feuding behind them in order to take to the stage together once more.

Oasis split in 2009 after a backstage bust-up between arch-nemesis siblings Liam and Noel at their final concert in Paris, France.
