I am married but still in love with my ex

Dear GhanaWeb,

I broke up with my ex because he believed our relationship was one-sided. He felt that he wasn’t receiving enough love from me, but I know in my heart that my love for him knew no bounds.

The breakup was incredibly difficult, and I held onto hope for two years that he would reach out so we could reconcile. Unfortunately, I never heard from him until we unexpectedly crossed paths at a seminar in the USA.

Seeing him again reignited the old flame, and I felt that familiar spark. He embraced me warmly and moved in for a kiss, but I pulled away and confessed that I am a married woman.

We spent time together as friends, keeping our interactions platonic. When we returned to Ghana, I almost followed him when he invited me to his home, but I was saved from temptation when my husband surprised me at the airport that day.

Our conversations continued, and I realized the depth of my feelings for him, both past and present.

Encountering him again has stirred up the dormant love within me. I am aware that I am married and should be directing my love towards my husband, but when I met my husband, I buried my feelings for my ex and married him in an attempt to move on.

My husband is a good man, but my heart remains with my ex.

What should I do?
