High-profile Rebels bikie Matthew Rymer is arrested after cops bust alleged drug syndicate


A high-profile Rebels bikie member has been arrested in Sydney‘s west as part of a major police operation into an alleged drug syndicate. 

Notorious Rebels bikie Matthew Rymer was arrested by NSW Police at his home near Penrith on Wednesday.

The 40-year-old, who once held the title of Penrith chapter president, was one of three men arrested after officers from the Organised Crime Squad raided several properties.

Strike Force detectives, along with officers from the Tactical Operations Unit, attended Rymer’s home in Cranebrook at about 10.50am. 

Officers searched Rymer’s home a seized mobile phone and 30kg of MDMA – which has a street value of just under $1million.

Rymer was taken to Penrith Police Station and was charged with four drug related offences including possessing a large commercial quantity, manufacturing a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug and knowingly direct activities of criminal group. 

He was refused bail and is set to face Penrith Local Court on Thursday. 

It’s understood Police seized 96kg of drugs during the Wednesday raids.
