Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham blast Liz Cheney and Jan. 6 committee for reading their texts to former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows during the Capitol riot

  • Fox’s Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham criticized Liz Cheney for reading their text messages about the Jan. 6 riot to then- Chief of Staff Mark Meadows
  • The hosts had asked Meadows to push former President Donald Trump to end the riot and condemn the attack on the Capitol
  • Hannity and Ingraham said the move was nothing more than an attempt to smear them and Trump and implicated them in the riot

Fox’s Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham lashed out against US Rep. Liz Cheney after the chair of the January 6 committee released damning texts of them asking then White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to get Donald Trump to stop the Capitol riot.

During their respective shows on Tuesday, Hannity and Ingraham called it an invasion of their privacy and said they revealed nothing new as both Fox personalities condemned the riot.

‘Last night, in a weak attempt to smear yours truly and presumably I guess President Trump, Congresswoman Cheney presented one of my text messages from January 6th to Mark Meadows,’ Hannity said.

Sean Hannity claimed US Rep. Liz Cheney wanted to smear his reputation and that of President Donald Trump when she read his texts to Mark Meadows a loud

‘Do we believe in privacy in this country? Apparently not.’

Ingraham also called it a ‘smearfest’ orchestrated to attack her and her fellow Fox host.

‘This sent the left-wing media hacks into ‘Spin & Defame’ mode,’ Ingraham said on Fox.

‘Of course the regime media was trying to twist this message to try and tar me as a liar and hypocrite who privately sounded the alarm on January 6 but publicly downplayed it.’

During the January 6 committee’s hearing on Monday, Cheney read messages from the Fox hosts sent to Meadows.

‘Mark, the president needs to tell people in the Capitol this is hurting all of us – he is destroying his legacy,’ Cheney read from Ingraham’s messages.

Fox’s Laura Ingraham’s texts were also read where she urged Meadows to ask Trump to help end the riot. Ingraham called it an invasion of privacy

Meadows has since been pursued on contempt charges after ending his cooperation with the committee.

Hannity claimed Cheney knew there was nothing of value in their correspondences with Meadows and merely read the messages out loud in an attempt to hurt his and Ingraham’s reputations.

‘She doesn’t seem to care. She’s interested in one thing and one thing only: smearing Trump and purging him from the party,’ Hannity said.

‘Liz, let’s release your phone records and texts, and your family discussing Donald Trump, considering you’re so free to release everybody else’s.’
