Hallie Biden and new Hunter-lookalike husband John Hopkins Anning make first public appearance at president’s son’s trial days after quietly tying the knot

It’s only days since she remarried yet Hallie Biden and her new husband were forced to make their first public appearance as newlyweds at her brother-in-law and one-time lover’s criminal trial in Delaware on Thursday.

With his slim face, penchant for an unshaven look, and baseball cap, her new spouse, John Hopkins Anning II bears a striking resemblance to her former paramour Hunter.

But when it comes to politics, the financial advisor from Ohio could not be more different from the first family as he has been a registered Republican since 1997, DailyMail.com can reveal.

Anning is a divorced father of three grown children – Katherine, 25, Margot, 24 and John Hopkins III who turns 18 this year.

Hallie Biden quietly tied the knot with her new husband, John Hopkins Anning II, days before testifying at Hunter Biden’s criminal trial in Delaware on Thursday, DailyMail.com can reveal

The president’s daughter-in-law was seen flaunting two rings on her wedding finger as she arrived with her new hubby at court

The nuptials come years after Hallie moved on from her late husband Beau Biden by infamously dating his brother Hunter (right)

And while Joe Biden has hacked his way through a thicket of allegations of financial improprieties thanks to his closeness to his errant son, the Annings can keep it in the family without fear of controversy or scandal.

As Senior Vice President – Wealth Management with UBS The Anning Group, Anning works alongside his father Robert, who holds the same title and moved to UBS after 45 years as an advisor with Merrill Lynch.

Fifty-two-year-old Anning II, who graduated from Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, New York, with a bachelor’s degree in American Studies, trod the same path, beginning his career at Merrill Lynch in Denver, Colorado where he worked from 1996 to 1998.

During this time, he met six-foot tall blonde Katie Zicka, 53, a former student of the University of Denver, whom he married on September 20, 1997.

The couple returned to his native city of Cincinnati, Ohio the following year 1998 when he began work for UBS The Anning Group.

He is on the board of The Christ Hospital Foundation and previously served on the board of the Cincinnati Parks Foundation.

On August 28, 2013, after 16 years of marriage and three children, Katie filed for divorce.

Divorce documents obtained by DailyMail.com reveal that they couple had been living separately for one year at that point but shed little light on the issues that drove them apart.

Hallie had reportedly been engaged to Anning, a financial advisor from Ohio, for over a year, but the couple held off on marrying until her younger child graduated from high school

They state: ‘differences have arisen that render it impossible for them to live together.’

The couple had signed an antenuptial agreement on September 19, 1997, the day before they married and the details of which are not publicly available.

But as part of their divorce settlement Anning agreed to pay his ex a $150,000 lump sum, $4,000 a month in alimony and $3,600 a month in child support until 2020.

He also agreed to maintain an $800,000 life insurance policy for as long as he had financial commitments to his ex-wife and children.

The former couple also established a trust fund to cover their children’s educational costs.

They further agreed that Anning would be responsible for two thirds of any college fees while his ex would pay only one third.

The newlywed couple were photographed arriving at a federal court in Wilmington on Thursday morning, ahead of Hallie’s testimony.

Plans for the nuptials first emerged on Saturday, with Page Six reporting that the pair were set to wed that weekend after a marriage license appeared in Ohio’s Hamilton County court records.

President Biden’s former daughter-in-law was married to his son Beau from 2002 until his death in 2015, during which time Beau served as the Delaware Attorney General

Hallie’s testimony on Thursday at Hunter’s trial in Wilmington, Delaware, is set to bolster the prosecution against her former lover

Hallie had two sons, Natalie and Robert, with Beau before he passed away from brain cancer

Hallie had reportedly been engaged to Anning for over a year, but the couple held off on marrying until her younger child graduated from high school.

Further details of the wedding or the guests are unclear.

The 50-year-old widow, took the stand for the prosecution in Hunter’s Delaware gun crimes trial, detailing how they both frequently abused drugs in the late 2010s.

Hallie Olivere, who grew up in Delaware and whose mother was friends with Joe, joined the Biden clan in 2002 when she married Beau, the president’s eldest son.

The couple had two children and were married until his death in 2015 from brain cancer, during which time he served as the Delaware Attorney General.

After Beau Biden passed away, she began dating Hunter around the same time he divorced his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle.

The couple continued their tryst for two years, in a time period that has now fallen under the spotlight in his federal trial.
