‘I want you to know that I’m not going to give up on the Hunter Biden investigation,’ Grassley said, according to The Washington Examiner. ‘Every one of you in this room and everybody that isn’t in this room, ought to have extraordinary confidence in the FBI. But today, we can’t have it.’
Grassley was among the GOP politicos to appear at an event at the Linn County, Iowa fairgrounds organized by Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson.
He was joined by South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott – a likely 2024 presidential contender – and the state’s Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds.
The longtime Iowa senator is up for reelection and favored to win over Democrat Mike Franken.
However, recent polling shows that Democrats may be able to hold onto their Senate majority – a 50-50 split with Vice President Kamala Harris acting as a tiebreaker – as several Republican candidates in key states like Pennsylvania and Georgia are stumbling.
Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley (pictured) said he would continue investigating Hunter Biden and wanted to root out ‘political bias’ within the FBI, during a gathering with Iowa Republicans on Sunday at the Linn County Fairgrounds in Central City, Iowa
Republicans have been harping over political bias at the FBI since the agency’s August 8 raid of former President Donald Trump’s home and private club, Mar-a-Lago (pictured)

House Republicans have also vowed to investigate President Joe Biden’s son if they take the lower chamber’s majority.
‘I want you to know, I’m not going to give up exposing political bias in the FBI,’ said Grassley, currently the ranking member of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee.
‘It’s not the FBI agents at the grassroots of Iowa,’ Grassley continued. ‘It’s the people at central headquarters. We’ve got to have [FBI] Director [Christopher] Wray show us a concrete plan of how he’s going to get the political bias out of the FBI,’ Grassley said.
Wray was appointed to the job by former President Donald Trump.
Republicans have been harping over political bias at the FBI since the agency’s August 8 raid of Trump’s home and private club, Mar-a-Lago, to retrieve classified documents taken from the White House to the Florida estate.
At the same time, Trump and his allies have pointed to the revelation made by Facebook co-founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg that the platform suppressed Hunter Biden laptop stories ahead of the election due to a warning from the FBI.
The FBI told Fox Business that it ‘routinely notifies U.S. private sector entities, including social media providers, of potential threat information, so that they can decide how to better defend against threats.’
In a statement Friday, Meta made clear the FBI’s warning to the social media giant didn’t specifically mention Hunter Biden.
‘As we’ve said, nothing about the Hunter Biden laptop story is new. Below is what Mark told Sen. Johnson in Oct 2020 and what Mark told Joe Rogan this week. The FBI shared general warnings about foreign interference – nothing specific about Hunter Biden,’ the Meta statement said.
On Monday, Trump claimed on Truth Social that he would have won the election had the Hunter Biden laptop story – originally broken by the New York Post but verified by DailyMail.com, among others – been widely spread.
The president’s son’s laptop included a number of salacious pictures – including of his sex life and drug use – and documents about his foreign business dealings.
The Biden campaign tried to brush off the stories in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election by suggesting the laptop was more Russian election tampering.
Former President Donald Trump expressed outrage Monday that the FBI ‘BURIED THE HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY BEFORE THE ELECTION.’ The FBI confirmed it warned Facebook about ‘potential threat information’ but Meta said the warning didn’t specifically mention Hunter Biden
And Twitter briefly suspended the New York Post’s account after the newspaper reported on the contents of the laptop.
‘So now it comes out, conclusively, that the FBI BURIED THE HUNTER BIDEN LAPTOP STORY BEFORE THE ELECTION knowing that, if they didn’t, “Trump would have easily won the 2020 Presidential Election.” This is massive FRAUD & ELECTION INTERFERENCE at a level never seen before in our Country,’ Trump complained on Truth Social Monday.
‘REMEDY: Declare the rightful winner or, and this would be the minimal solution, declare the 2020 Election irreparably compromised and have a new Election, immediately!’ Trump added.
The former president likely benefited politically in the 2016 cycle when FBI Director James Comey told members of Congress that the investigation into Democrat Hillary Clinton’s private email server had been reopened just two weeks before election day.
Meanwhile, the FBI was investigating the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia, but kept that probe under wraps until after the Republican won the 2016 election.
