Gang of burglars meet their match as they try to storm home of military veteran


Newly released video captured the moment an alleged assassin was shot in the central Mexico state of Tlaxcala.

The victim, identified as 23-year-old Jonathan, and members of the ‘Los Barba” gang were seen on camera attempting to ambush a retired military sergeant at his home in the Tlaxcala municipality of Totolac.

The surveillance footage, which was leaked on social media Monday, showed Jonathan walking in front of the group before they suddenly opened fired on July 24 at 4:21 pm.

Three of the gang members briefly disappeared from the view of the camera while a fourth gunman remained several yards away from the home reloading his gun with ammunition.

The veteran fired a shot that struck the metal gate of a residence as the gang members began to retreat before Jonathan was shot and fell to the ground.

One of the wounded gunman’s accomplices, who identifies himself in the video as his brother, later ran back to check on him and yelled at the retired sergeant before he knelt over his friend’s body.

A second video showed Jonathan’s father arriving at the scene at 4:28 pm in a private SUV and crying over his body while he begged cops and soldiers to call for an ambulance.

Several cops could be seen showing Jonathan’s father the bullet casings.

The teen’s boy was eventually loaded on to the vehicle and taken to a local hospital.

Family members requested an ambulance from the police before they loaded the wounded alleged gang member into a SUV and rushed him to a hospital

Marines and the police allowed the family to remove the wounded gang member instead of transporting him to a hospital in an ambulance

Azteca Noticias reported that Jonathan remains hospitalized and in serious condition. 

Several media outlets reported that the shooting was allegedly sparked by an argument involving the sergeant and the gang members at a neighborhood store.

The gunmen followed him to his residence and began to fire before he responded.
