The death has been reported of the former National Democratic Congress(NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) Dafiama-Bussie-Issa, Hon. Mathias Asuma Puozaa.
The retired educationist died at 76 years at 37 Military Hospital in Accra where he was on admission receiving treatment according to close family sources,
He was first elected into office in the 2004 General Elections and became a member of the Parliament in January 2005 with the ticket of the National Democratic Congress.
He had a run of 3 terms in office and left office in January 2017. While in parliament, he was the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education.
Asuma was born on 10 January 1948.
He is an indigene of Touri-Daffiama, a town in the Upper West Region of Ghana and an alumnus of the University of Edinburgh, Scotland where he obtained his Master of Science degree in Community Education.
The bereaved family is yet to announce details of his funeral arrangements.
