The flight captain who caught Liam Gallagher and Lily Allen having sex in first class has told how the randy stars were so caught up in the moment, they ignored repeated requests to stop.
The former Virgin Atlantic employee, who does not want to be named, told MailOnline that cabin crew attempted to intervene after spotting the pair under the covers during their booze-fuelled 11-hour journey.
Speaking about the incident for the first time, the captain revealed how the music stars were drinking large amounts of champagne prior to boarding the flight between London and the Far East and turned their first-class seats into beds before getting intimate.
Lily first revealed the 2009 romp in her 2018 autobiography My Thoughts Exactly and the fling caused strain in Liam’s relationship with All Saints star Nicole Appleton, who he was married to at the time.
The captain said: ‘Over an hour into the flight I was called out of the flight deck by a member of the cabin crew who said that Lily Allen was in bed with Liam Gallagher.

‘I came out and saw the two of them under a duvet. There was a lot of movement, and they weren’t reading bedtime stories to each other. It was clear what they were doing.’
He continued: ‘A crew member initially tried to stop them, but they weren’t listening which is why they called me. Then a few moments later, Lily got up, went back to her seat and got out an e-cigarette.
‘One of the cabin crew asked me: ‘Shall I stop her?’ but I told her: ‘She’s just f**ked Liam Gallagher. Let her have a couple of puffs and she will pass out.’
The captain denied their conduct was allowed to go unchallenged because they were stars, admitting it’s ‘hard to stop’ passengers joining the ‘Mile High Club’.
He explained: ‘When the lights are turned off in the plane people get up to no good all the time, especially in first class.
‘Some of them want to join the mile high club but it’s not that easy to stop them. You can’t say to a passenger ‘stop having sex,’ what if they’re not?’
‘You can’t act like a father to all passengers, even when they are big stars and even when you know they are doing something they shouldn’t be.’
Liam and Lily were flying to Japan for the Fuji Rock Festival. Their flight took off on July 23 from Heathrow Airport and landed the following morning.
In the shocking excerpt of her book, Lily claimed they headed to his hotel together after one thing led to another and they got ‘hammered’ on the plane.

However, Liam begged Lily – who was a lifelong Oasis fan – never to reveal their fling over fears it could end his marriage to wife Nicole, whom he wed a year previously.
She penned: ‘We got hammered on the plane. At some point Liam and I found ourselves together in the toilet doing something that he shouldn’t have been doing, and it wasn’t drugs.
‘Then we were in a lie-down bed together.
‘When we landed in Tokyo, Liam said, in his distinctive nasal twang, ‘What you doing now? Why don’t you come back to our hotel’… I was like, ‘Yeah, OK’.’
She added: ‘It wasn’t until the next day when he said something like, ‘No one can hear about this because of Nic,’ then I clocked he was married.
”I knew Noel was married and I knew Liam had been married to Patsy Kensit. That was partly why I fancied him.’
Despite hoping the secret romp would never see the light of day, Nicole discovered the truth six months after Liam asked Lily to lie to his wife.
The Fear songstress explained the Oasis frontman ‘sounded awful, like he’d been up all night’ when he said he needed her to tell Nicole their night of passion was ‘b*****ks’.
Lilly writes that she agreed and told him: ‘Oh, Liam, yes sure, it’s all b****ks if that’s what you want – and not think about it too much or even at all, and then maybe it will go away and not disrupt what really matters. The people we love and rely on.’
