Five-month-old girl is rescued after car is hijacked with the child inside as her terrified mother stood nearby


A five-month-old baby girl has been found ‘safe and well’ after the car she was in was hijacked as her mother stood nearby. 

Irish police issued an urgent alert after an unknown man took the vehicle in Dublin city centre at around 1.50pm on Monday.

They issued an urgent appeal as they tried to trace the whereabouts of infant Daisy Hall, saying they had ‘serious concerns’ that there might be ‘an immediate and serious risk to her health or welfare’.

She has now been found and the Child Rescue Alert has been cancelled.

In a statement, Irish police said: ‘Daisy Hall has been located safe and well in Dublin City Centre. We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance.’

The car, a silver Nissan Qashqai hatchback with the registration number 10-D-21328, was last seen in Mountjoy Square in Dublin’s city centre at around 1.50pm on Monday

The car, a silver Nissan Qashqai hatchback with the registration number 10-D-21328, was last seen in the Mountjoy Square area.

They described the car as having a ‘baby onboard’ sticker on the back and a dog cage in the boot, as they appealed to the public for help.
