Dramatic moment CNN star Scott Jennings slams his own network for taking Trump’s remarks out of context

CNN pundit Scott Jennings accused the network of allowing comments by Donald Trump to repeatedly be taken out of context to stoke fear and anger.

The senior political commentator argued CNN has let the Kamala Harris mischaracterize comments by Trump in a way that is ‘designed to radicalize’ his critics.

Jennings made the comments during a panel the day after an apparent second assassination on the former Republican president, who has claimed rhetoric by Democrats is putting him in danger.

The pundit said that Trump’s comments that ‘there will be a bloodbath’ in the economy if he loses the election are an example of how the left has misconstrued his words to stoke fear.

Multiple Trump critics ignored the fact that Trump was talking about a potential economic bloodbath and have claimed he was instead warning of violence erupting on America’s streets.

‘It is said by every Democrat working for or around [Harris’] campaign every day on this network and every other one,’ Jennings said.  ‘The bloodbath thing is stated every single day.’

CNN’s Abby Phillip then stepped in, saying ‘Vice President Harris improperly and unfairly mischaracterized that as him saying there would be a bloodbath if he were elected.’

But Phillips added: ‘However, she did not say that if Trump were elected, there would be a bloodbath.’

Jennings insisted, saying: ‘The “bloodbath” garbage, it is a pillar of the Democratic campaign against Trump, as is “dictator,” as is “eliminate the U.S. Constitution.”

VP Harris took Trump’s comments about a ‘bloodbath’ out of context during the presidential debate earlier this month.

She said: ‘Donald Trump, the candidate, has said in this election there will be a bloodbath if this and the outcome of this election is not to his liking. Let’s turn the page on that.’

Trump delivered the line at a speech in March in Ohio in which he was talking about the impact of offshoring on the American auto industry and his plans to increase tariffs on foreign-made cars.

It was in reference to the auto industry that he warned of a ‘bloodbath’ if his proposals aren’t enacted.

‘If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country,’ Trump said.

During the same debate, Trump claimed he ‘probably took a bullet to the head’ because of rhetoric by the Democrats.

‘I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me. They talk about democracy. I’m a threat to democracy. They’re the threat to democracy,’ Trump said.

Trump survived an assassination attempt in July in a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The on Sunday he was apparently targeted again as he golfed near his Florida club.

The man suspected in the incident, Ryan Wesley Routh, camped outside the golf course in West Palm Beach with food and a rifle for nearly 12 hours, according to court documents filed Monday. He is accused of lying in wait for the former president before a Secret Service agent opened fire, thwarting the potential attack.
