    • Ex-partner’s abuse caught on home security cameras

A brave domestic violence survivor has shared harrowing footage of the relentless abuse she suffered at the hands of her ex-partner.

Perth woman Peta Robinson says she endured eight years of ‘living hell’ being mercilessly bashed and abused by her then-boyfriend Adam Di Giuseppe.

Ms Robinson says an extensive system of home security cameras, initially set-up by Di Giuseppe to track her every move, became crucial to telling her story.

Distressing footage from a camera in the couple’s bedroom captured the sickening moments Di Giuseppe would abuse his partner.

‘I was in love, he was my soulmate as far as I was aware,’ she told 7News.

‘I still thought maybe I could change him, he might change.’

In one clip, Di Giuseppe chokes his ex-partner while telling her: ‘You’re gonna die now’

In one video, he is seen dragging her off the bed and onto the floor where he repeatedly hit Ms Robinson’s head against the wall until she fell unconscious.

In another incident, the relentless abuse only stopped after Di Giuseppe slashed Ms Robinson’s wrist with a knife he was holding before bursting into tears.

The couple sit on the floor while he tearily tells his victim: ‘I f***ing love you Peta’.

In other clips, Di Giuseppe chokes Ms Robinson as she struggles and threatens her with a baseball bat covered with swastikas while she’s tied to the bed.

‘I could feel my nose, I just felt the blood come rushing out and then he was just kicking and kicking because I was tied up,’ she said.

Di Giuseppe is currently behind bars in Casuarina Prison, about 30km south of the Perth CBD, on drugs and firearm charges.

He is due to be sentenced for his violent attacks on his ex-partner, who has a lifetime restraining order against him, in November.

Di Giuseppe has pleaded guilty to a number of charges including three counts of threat with intent to compel the doing of an act and one count of aggravated grievous bodily harm.

Another charge he pleaded guilty to was one count with intent to harm omitted to do any act that it was the persons duty to do or did any act as a result of which the life, health or safety of any person was or was likely to be endangered.

One count of going armed so as to cause terror, one count of unlawfully assault and thereby did bodily harm with circumstances of aggravation were also among the charges.

Di Giuseppe still tries to contact his victim through letters and has even arranged for other inmate’s wives to try and reach her.

Ms Robinson says she still fears Di Giuseppe and finds it difficult to leave the house without feeling like she is in constant danger.

She said police are yet to deliver on their promise to move her somewhere safer.

Her father Greg Robinson said his daughter urgently needs protection.

‘I’m a bit disappointed, she needs protection. Put her up in Perth, she becomes a needle in a haystack, a big haystack,’ he said.
