A Disney on Ice skater was hospitalized in critical condition after she fell while being lifted into the air by another cast member.

The skater, who portrayed Belle in the Magic in the Stars program, was injured during Saturday morning’s performance at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

She was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition, but was said to be stable as of Sunday, KARE 11 reported.

The nature of the skater’s injuries remain unknown at this time, but witnesses told the TV station she appeared ‘shakey’ before suffering the fall.

Footage of the accident showed the actress apparently seizing on the ice while the skater playing the Beast hovered above her and medics rushed to her aid.

The incident occurred about 40 minutes into the 11am performance, witnesses recalled.

Beka, who brought her two children to the performance, said the cast handled the clearly ‘very difficult’ situation well and made sure to ‘preserve the magic’ for guests.

‘They were doing a lift, it appeared shaky and she fell,’ she told KARE. ‘I am beyond grateful and thankful for the remaining staff and the performers who kept going because that preserves the magic for the kids.

‘I know that has to have been very difficult.’

Another guest noted how the cast and crew got to the injured skater quickly, adding that the Minneapolis community ‘hopes that she’s okay and that she recovers’.

A Disney on Ice spokesperson told the news outlet that it ‘appreciates the well wishes from our fans as our team member recovers’.

MailOnline has approached Hennepin County Medical Center and Disney on Ice for comment.
