Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Deabeas Owusu-Sekyere played a pivotal role in Zhejiang Professional’s thrilling 4-3 win against Qingdao Hainiu in the Chinese Super League.

The match, held at the Yellow Dragon Sports Center Stadium, saw Owusu-Sekyere score a crucial goal in the 28th minute, striking from outside the box to the top right corner, assisted by Yao Junsheng.

The game was a rollercoaster of goals, with Martin Boakye, another Ghanaian striker playing for Qingdao Hainiu, scoring a hat-trick in the 11th, 53rd, and 76th minutes. However, Zhejiang Professional secured the win with additional goals from Sun Guowen (24th minute), Leonardo (62nd minute), and Jean Kouassi (72nd minute).

Owusu-Sekyere, who started the game and played for 83 minutes, has been instrumental for Zhejiang Professional this season. He has played 22 games, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in the 2024 Chinese Super League.

The win takes Zhejiang Professional’s head-to-head record against Qingdao Hainiu to five wins, three losses, and four draws.
