Chick-fil-A was ousted as America’s favorite fast food restaurant by KFC and Del Taco in a new survey.
Last year, Chick-fil-A finished first in USA Today’s rankings, which were determined by readers’ votes.
The restaurant drew high marks for its chicken items and its waffle fries.
This year, KFC and Del Taco were something of dark horses. Neither of them even appeared in the previous top ten. But this time around, they not only made the list- they soared to the top.

At the bottom of the pack was Arby’s, who dropped four spots from their ranking last year.
Known for their slogan, ‘we have the meats,’ Arby’s offers diners trademark roast beef sandwiches, as well as deli-style sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, and wraps.
In ninth place was Zaxby’s, a restaurant that’s renowned for its fried chicken. Some of their chicken-related items include chicken sandwiches, fingers, and wings.
Zaxby’s menu also features unique foods like white cheddar bites, loaded fries, and fried pickles. The restaurant also lures customers with its assortment of chocolate chip cookies.
In the number eight spot was Popeyes, who moved up two places in the rankings from 2023.
Created in New Orleans, Popeyes is internationally recognized for their southern fried chicken.

The chicken meals are served with a biscuit and the customer’s choice of Cajun fries, mac and cheese, red beans and rice, coleslaw, or mashed potatoes and Cajun gravy.
Taco Bell retained its title as the seventh best fast food restaurant.
Boasting a wide range of menu items, the restaurant can accommodate customers any time of day. Taco Bell is known for its Mexican-themed cuisine, including tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and Mexican pizza.
In sixth place was Captain D’s- a beloved seafood restaurant. At Captain D’s, diners can order items like fried catfish or whitefish, blackened tilapia, fried shrimp, and grilled salmon.

At number five was Hardee’s, a fast food restaurant acclaimed for its hearty fare.
Founded in North Carolina 64 years ago, Hardee’s enjoys a solid reputation for its succulent burgers and homemade biscuits.
In fourth place was California’s In-N-Out Burger, which dropped two spots from their second place finish last year.
Despite their no-frills menu, the restaurant continues to garner accolades for their delicious food.
At In-N-Out, there are no freezers because the chain uses exclusively fresh ingredients. Diners can also opt to order from the restaurant’s ‘Not So Secret Menu.’

In addition to their standard menu, the California-based restaurant also offers breakfast, vegan, and vegetarian menus.
