Blacktown, Sydney: Three-year-old boy rushed to hospital with head injuries after being struck by a car


A three-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after he was struck by a car in Sydney‘s west. 

Emergency crews were called to Greenbank Drive in Blacktown after reports a young boy had been hit by a car at about midday on Saturday.

The toddler was treated for serious head injuries before he was rushed to The Children’s Hospital in Westmead in a serious but stable condition.

The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter with a specialist doctor onboard was dispatched to the scene and arrived within five minutes of the call (pictured)

A CareFlight spokesperson said the quick intervention and the specialist doctor ‘may well have saved the child’s life’. 

The three-year-old boy is understood to be in a serious condition with non-life threatening injuries. 

A Honda Accord has been seized for forensic testing with the 22-year-old male driver taken to hospital for mandatory testing. 

NSW Police said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
