Well-acclaimed Ghanaian football historian Bright Yeboah Taylor has shared intriguing details on the number of times Ghanaian clubs have clashed with Algerian clubs in CAF interclub competition knockout ties.

Hearts of Oak, champions of Ghana, have been drawn against JS Saoura from the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 in the CAF Confederation Cup knockout stages.

After failing to progress to the CAF Champions League following a 6-2 aggregate loss to Moroccan outfit Wydad Athletic Club – another North African side, the Ghanaian treble winners will be eyeing victory over the club from the Béchar Province to advance to the group stages of the competition.

However, renowned Ghanaian football historian Taylor suggests the journey won’t be that easy for the Phobians per the history of Ghanaian clubs against Algerians.

He tweeted details right after the draw was done.
