CNN  —  Mexican comedian Leopoldo Roberto Garcia Pelaez Benitez, who performed as “Polo Polo,” died on Monday, his family announced. He was 78. His son, Paul Garcia, told Mexican broadcaster TV Azteca that his father had vascular dementia and died of natural causes at his home. Born in Leon, Guanajuato, Benitez was known for his colorful jokes and rose to fame in the 1980s. The University of Ghana security has arrested an individual with a fake student ID who was being influenced by some persons to pose as a stranded student for media attention. The management of the University in a statement said the individual confessed to living in Commonwealth Hall illegally last academic year. CNN  —  Three people were injured Monday in a shooting in Des Moines, Iowa, according to tweets from the Des Moines Police Department. Police say two of those injured are in critical condition. They did not provide a condition for the third person injured. “Officers have multiple potential suspects in custody,” police said. The shooting was reported shortly before 1 p.m. at Starts Right Here, a charter school which helps young people living in disadvantaged circumstances, CNN affiliate KCCI reported. The government has revised some terms of its Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) following discussions with the Ghana Association of Banks. Hitherto, the new bonds under the programs were not to accrue any interest until 2024, starting at 0% coupon in 2023 which steps up to 5% in 2024 and 10 % from 2025. But after the engagements between the Bankers and the Ministry of Finance, bondholders will now enjoy a 5% coupon in 2023. This also translates into an effective coupon rate of 9% according to a joint press release by the Finance Ministry and Ghana Association of Banks.…
