Monday morning heavy rains rendered homeless many residents of some communities in Tamale Metropolis and Sagnerigu Municipality of the Northern Region. The five-hour rain submerged many homes, shops and stores. Gas and fuel stations in the Vittin community were also flooded. Some of the affected residents took to their heels in order to escape being carried away by the rampaging flood water.
