The Denkyira Traditional Council has proposed the siting of a University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) campus within the Upper Denkyira East Municipality to facilitate training in small scale mining for the youth of the area. Adamawa State has announced itspreparedness to consider the stance of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wikeon the collection of Value Added Tax (VAT) in the state, making it the first northernstate to show interest in the move.
