Belgium giants Anderlecht rejected a last-minute attempt by Dutch side AZ Alkmaar for the services of Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru, GHANASoccernet.com can report.
The club dismissed the offer with the player in the plans of manager Vincent Kompany.
Ashimeru was also not interested in a move to the Dutch Eredivisie after sealing a permanent transfer to Anderlecht in the transfer window.
The 23-year-old penned a four year deal with the Purple and Whites after impressing on an initial loan deal.
Although the playmaker has seen few minutes on the pitch, he still remains an integral member of the squad.
The ex-WAFA player is currently in the Black Stars team for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.
He could make his debut for the national team in the absence of Thomas Partey, who is out through injury.
