A popular product sold only at discount supermarket Aldi is being urgent recalled over fears of possible electrocution.

Aldi’s workzone double USB powerpoint is being recalled amid worries that faults in the product could lead to death or serious injury.

Product Safety Australia warned consumers should ‘immediately’ stop using it.

It was sold for more than two months this year, between 27 May and 4 August.

It was sold in every state and territory except Tasmania and the Northern Territory. 

The defects in the power point are ‘weak contacts’, according to Product Safety Australia.

Consumers should immediately stop using it and either return it to any Aldi for a refund or arrange a free replacement.

Two model numbers are affected: RPOD10U-AA and RPOD10U-AC, while the batch numbers to look out for are: 05/2023 or 07/2023.

The product code is 708521.
