Chief Executive Officer of Ghana COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aidoo has delivered another good news to cocoa farmers in the country following President Nana Akufo-Addo’s increment in cocoa producer price per bag.

The President announced a hike in cocoa price to GHC 1308 in the new cocoa season.

This comes as a big relief to the farmers and is seen to be a major boost in cocoa productivity.

To cement the joy of the farmers, the COCOBOD Chief Executive, in an interview with host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” show Monday morning, disclosed there will be further increase in cocoa price.

He promised the cocoa farmers that the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will move the Ghc1,308 per bag of cocoa to a far higher price that if they think the amount they are receiving this season is relieving, “they should be even much glad because next year will be better”.

He explained that the increment during next year’s cocoa season will be as a result of the new price on the international market.

“That 3,600 dollars, we are going to use it next year,” he revealed.
