President of the Africa Armwrestling Federation Charles Osei Asibey has touched down in Sierra Leone ahead of a crucial stakeholder engagement programme in the West African nation.
The 47-year-old former broadcaster will hold important meetings with the Sports Minister in the 8 million-populated country, the Director of Sports Council, the National Olympic Committee and the high ranking executives of Armwrestling Federation.
The visit forms part of a strategic plan to popularise the sport across the African continent.
Asibey, who was voted into office as the President of the Africa Armwrestling Federation in July, was welcome on arrival on by Ghana’s High Commissioner.
He will begin his 3-day engagement and activities in the country which is noted for its white-sand beaches lining the Freetown Peninsula.

He also holds the position of the Vice President of the World Armwrestling Federation and General Secretary of the Ghana Athletics Association as well as the General Secretary of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana – SWAG.
