Reid grilled Justice on her expertise and parental rights. Justice responded, ‘I don’t have to be an expert to know that dildos are not appropriate for public school’

‘Tell me what the context around the strap-on dildo or the rape of a minor child by a teacher,’ said Justice.

Reid then questioned Justice about the main character of the book and said the Moms For Liberty co-founder was presenting herself as an expert on the book.

‘What I am saying to you is you are not an expert in this book,’ said Reid.

Justice said, ‘I don’t have to be an expert to know that dildos are not appropriate for public school, I mean come on let’s get real.’

Reid asked why shouldn’t a parent whose child might feel seen by this story have the right to let them read it.

Justice countered with saying if a child feels seen by this story that means they have been a victim of a predator.

Reid then accused her of claiming to be an expert again and asked her for proof that a child had been raped.

According to The Independent, a central chapter of All Boys Aren’t Blue focuses on sexual abuse author George M. Johnson experienced around age 13.

In September, Senator John Kennedy read a passage from the memoir during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

The passage he read said: I’ put some lube on and got him on his knees, and I began to slide into him from behind. I pulled out of him and kissed him while he masturbated. He asked me to turn over while he slipped a condom on himself.’

‘This was my a** and I was struggling to imagine someone inside me. He got on top and slowly inserted himself into me. It was the worst pain I think I have ever felt in my life. Eventually, I felt a mix of pleasure with the pain.’

During the interview, the two discussed an ‘opt-out form’ available in Broward County, Florida that allows parents to say their child cannot check out books from the library without their permission.

The book at the center of Reid and Justices debate was All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson, which has been banned in 29 school districts

‘Maybe we can just put all the books with all the graphic sexual content, the dildos, the raping,’ Justice said.

Reid said, ‘I’m so sorry, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me. I have seen tapes of what Moms For Liberty does, and you all go into school board meetings and you read graphic stuff.’

Justice said, ‘Joy, this is a disingenuous conversation. America used to understand that there’s a thing called age-appropriate content.’

In June, Moms for Liberty was added to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of ‘hate and anti-government groups’ after it gained national media attention for its efforts to fight COVID safety measures in schools, book bans , limit discussion about race and LGBTQ identities and populate local school boards with conservatives.

The groups other co-founder Bridget Ziegler has been facing calls to resign from the Sarasota school board after her husband Christian Ziegler was accused of raping woman ‘who was part of their ménage-a-trois.’
